Jurisprudence
is one of the best sciences, as it is the knowledge of the rulings of the Shari’a, the lawful, the forbidden, and
the necessary rulings, and by it the Muslim knows the ruling on his worship and his dealings, right and wrong.
“Whoever God
wants good for, He gives him understanding of the
religion.” And in the conversation
God called him
good and said, “And whoever is given wisdom has been
given much good.” A group of scholars of interpretation explained wisdom
with the knowledge of the branches, which is the science of jurisprudence.
The merit of
the jurist over the worshiper is evidenced by the hadith of Abu Hurairah on the
authority of the Prophet
He said: “God
is not worshiped with something better than a jurisprudence in a religion, and a jurist is more severe than Satan than a thousand worshipers.”
On the
authority of Zaid bin Thabit, he said: I heard the Messenger of God say,
(May God bless a person who hears a hadith from us and
memorizes it until he informs him, for perhaps a holder of jurisprudence to
someone who is more knowledgeable than him, and perhaps a holder of
jurisprudence is not a jurist)
